GOM JABBAR CONCEPT NO. 02 - a hringpoki object
This second gom jabbar builds upon the hringpoki techniques I have been developing. For this piece I relaxed the circles to give "the high handed enemy" more flow while retaining a bit of the structure of the packing algorithim. I think this falls in line with the subtle ways the Bene Gesserit manipulate the bloodlines of humanity.
I felt that my first concept was too structured; too saturated with western history.
I wanted to shift focus to to a gom jabbar that felt "of the time" and "out of time" to be timeless. I like the old design as a ceremonial peice - something you'd see in a Bene Gesserit museum - but this new gom jabbar feels more right (even if it is more than a simple needle on a thimble).
"Let us say I suggest you may be human. Steady! I warn you not to try jerking away. I am old, but my hand can drive this needle into your neck before you can escape me."
―Reverend Mother Gaius Mohiam

I chose copper for this gom jabbar because I really like working with it. It looks great polished - not gold, not silver, but bright orange - looks great with use - turning milk chocolate brown - and looks great neglected - acquiring that green patina.
